The first Chris Kyle Legendary Golf Classic will honor the memory of American Sniper himself, Chris Kyle and 18 Legends that have served our country and communities, whilst raising awareness for the work of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation in our military, veteran and first responder communities.
The event will take place on November 6, 2017 at the Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington, TX.
All 18 holes will carry the name of a legend locally or nationally that serves – or has served – their community and country.
The first group of five Legends have been announced.
They are four Police Officers that served the Dallas Police Department – one who also served in the US Navy during three tours of Iraq; and one Officer that served in the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) team.
On July 7, 2016, all five paid the ultimate price, having their lives taken in the line of duty.
The organizers and the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation are honored to announce the first five Legends for the Chris Kyle Legendary Golf Classic:
- Lorne Ahrens – joined Dallas PD in 2002
- Michael Krol – joined Dallas PD in 2007
- Michael J. Smith – joined Dallas PD in 1989
- Patrick Zamarripa – joined Dallas PD in 2010, US Navy Veteran (served 3 tours in Iraq)
- Brent Thompson – joined Dallas Area Rapid Transit in 2009
“We’re so honored that Clint Burgess and his team thought of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation in piecing this event together,” said Chris Kyle’s wife and Executive Director of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, Taya Kyle. “The fact we can use this event to highlight many of those who serve our communities still to this day and those – like the five we’ve announced today – that have paid the ultimate price is really special.
“The funds raised from this event will allow the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation to invest in programs that assist the marriages of military, veteran and first responder couples – which more importantly than ever before after recent weeks – need as much help as possible to ensure their marriages prosper.”
The Chris Kyle Legendary Golf Classic honors military service, veteran and first responders at every stage, including teams to be entered for a special service member challenge. It will pit military veterans against a Police and Fire team.
Once the on-course activities are complete, the ‘19th Hole’ will kick into full swing. Headlined by Country Music star, Coffey Anderson, a whole range of Texas’ finest performers will entertain the crowd long into the night.
Sponsorships and team entries to the Chris Kyle Legendary Golf Classic at Tierra Verde Golf Club, Arlington, TX are available as are individual tickets to the 19th Hole celebrations.
The Chris Kyle Frog Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 that provides a number of programming experiences for military, veteran and first responder couples to ensure their marriages thrive.
