The third member of the Fallen Heroes that will be honored at the Chris Kyle Legendary Classic on Tuesday November 6 at Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington, TX will be SEAL Team 3 Member, Stephen “Matt” Mills.

Born on October 5, 1975, Matt entered in to the Navy in 1997.

After bootcamp, he was assigned to a destroyer where he completed two tours. He then attended BUD’s, graduating in class 233.

He was assigned to SEAL Team 3 where he completed two combat tours, then decided to screen for DEVGRU. After selection he was assigned to a SEAL Team on the East Coast where he completed 6 combat tours.

Matt died on August 6th 2011 from wounds inflicted when his helicopter was shot down in Wardak Province, Afghanistan – ending his career just shy of 16 years of service.

If there is one thing to remember about Matt, it is that he was a dedicated, fierce warrior with a heart of gold, a jolly laugh and a loving embrace. He loved being a father, husband, son, brother and cousin.

The Fallen Heroes will be honored on all 18 holes of the Tierra Verde Golf Club – which is the home of the Chris Kyle Legendary Classic, taking place for the second time this year.

The event raises funds for the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation to enact its mission to Honor GOD, Country and Families who serve.

The Foundation is focused on changing the world for this generation and the next by recognizing and strengthening military and first responder marriages through unique programs and powerful partnerships.

It was launched on Veterans Day in 2014 by Taya Kyle to honor the life and continue the legacy of her husband, American Sniper, Chris Kyle.
